The Fenmen progressed to the next round of the Cambs Invitation Cup with a comfortable win at Fountain Fresh Park tonight.
Michael Frew, 39, who is on loan from Stamford, rolled back the years to score in the first minute, latching on to a through ball from Toby Allen and finding the net with a right-foot shot.
Wisbech should have doubled their lead almost immediately when Rob Conyard, who later went off injured, failed to find the net from close range, and they continued to miss chances against the Cambs League champions.
It was not until the 73rd minute that Joe Reed, making his debut, secured victory by firing home from 20 yards after a succession of attempts at goal.
Wisbech, fielding a young side, restricted a spirited visiting side to few chances and West Wratting did not have their first direct shot on goal until the last 10 minutes.
Teenage defender Harry Twite looks a real prospect, gaining his second successive man-of-the-match award, and manager Alex Street was pleased with the performance of midfielder Sam Murphy.
