UCL Premier Division North
The Fenmen ended their losing run in the league but a late equaliser gave the Nottinghamshire visitors a deserved point at Fountain Fresh Park this afternoon.
Wisbech were ahead at the interval but Kimberley had the better of the second half and might have gained all three points with better finishing.
The home side once again made changes, Sam Murphy reverting to central defence with Joe Reed and Callum Howe as wing backs.
Wisbech were fortunate in the early stages when the fast-raiding visitors were denied a penalty after Reed, who went on to be man of the match for Wisbech, handled in the area. Referee Mark Simmons waved play on.
Toby Allen went close with a good effort before the Fenmen took the lead after 28 minutes. Amir Ward's run was halted just inside the penalty area and referee Simmons pointed to the spot. Murphy slotted home the kick, his fourth successful penalty of the season.
Soon afterwards Ward found the net following another run, but the effort was ruled out by the linesman's flag.
The first half was even and played at a fast pace, but Kimberley took charge after the break. Wisbech kept them out with some last-ditch defending but eventually striker Aaron Coyle latched on to an error and struck a sweet shot into the corner of the net from 30 yards.
Wisbech rallied towards the end and sub Harley Murkin found the net from a corner in added on time, but the effort was ruled out because of a disputed foul.
