The sizeable contingent of fans from Wisbech endured a miserable time as The Fenmen slumped to defeat at the Sir Halley Stewart Field this afternoon.
It was simply not good enough from the visitors. They were weakened by unavailability and injury but that should not be an excuse. Pinchbeck wanted it more.
To make matters worse, two of the home side's best players, Neal Spafford and Archie Wallace, used to play for Wisbech.
Spafford, playing in an unfamiliar forward role, was all over the place and scored Pinchbeck's second goal, a powerful strike from distance just before half-time. Wallace, who recently moved from Wisbech to Pinchbeck, was impressive in the home side's defence.
Pinchbeck had much the better of the first half against the ragged visitors and they took an early lead with a disputed penalty.
The visitors came more into the game towards the end of the half and Pat Kacirek fired an effort over the bar after good work by Andre Williams and Toby Allen.
Wisbech, who were without Amir Ward (unavailable) and Sam Murphy (injured), failed to improve after the interval, although Pinchbeck also presented little goal threat.
The visitors finally stirred themselves in the last 15 minutes, with sub Harley Murkin joining the attack, and veteran Jon Challinor reduced the arrears with the best piece of skill in the game, turning and hitting a screamer into the net from 25 yards.
But it was all too little and too late. Pinchbeck, one off the bottom, thoroughly deserved their third win of the season.
